Our hair is another part of our body that needs constant nourishment to look and feel healthy. There are many foods that can help you achieve your "hair goals". Here is a list of foods that can help you achieve healthier hair. If you are plant based like me some of these items may be out of the question, but there are options here regardless of your dietary choices.

1) Greek Yogurt. Not only is it packed with protein it is also rich in B5 that helps with thinning of the hair.

2) Spinach. This will really help create a healthier mane because it is packed with iron, vit C and folate.

3) Sweet Potatoes. These complex carbs are full of Vit A that gives your hair lasting shine.

4) Cinnamon. This spice is more than a Holiday favorite. It also helps with increased circulation which in turn helps bring more nutrients into your scalp.

5) Biotin. These are one food group that I can't give up on. They come packed with iron. biotic and protein which is the trifecta for hair loss prevention.

6) Guava. This fruit is so rich in Vit C that you can say goodbye to breakage of your precious strands.

7) Chicken. Optimal protein is key in getting thicker hair. Chicken is a lean protein rich lean protein that can help you meet your protein needs with just a small serving. If you are plant based, check out number 8.

8) Beans. Packed with protein and zinc, they are what you need for thick locks. Add a variety in your diet, also note that you will need higher quantities of beans if you are eliminating animal protein.

9) Nuts. Packed with vitamin E, it is essential that nuts are in your daily routine to maintain hair fullness.

10) Avocados. Also known as my favorite food in the world. For that extra shine add an avocado to your diet daily.

11) Berries. Last, but definitely not least. Berries are packed with antioxidants that help protect your hair from all the damage we put it through.

We all purchase the shampoos and masks to make our hair feel and look better, but those are all surface treatments. I always say, true beauty starts within. Take care of your insides.
